Our online programs are as rigorous as our on-campus programs and have the benefit of allowing you to learn when and where it's most convenient for you. Tuition for the online programs includes an iPad® preloaded with our cutting-edge learning management system and program curriculum—so you can learn on the go.

M.A. in Educational Leadership

Improve the education of others through data analysis and research, and use communication and personal coaching to spark change. This program is for those who want to lead others to reach their fullest potential in the classroom or corporate environments.

M.A. in Special Education

Learn to work with students who have specific learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and/or emotional and behavioral issues. This program offers several options for those who are licensed educators, seeking an initial license, or seeking a master's without preparing for licensure.

M.Ed. in Learning Design and Technology (online only)

Focus on integrating educational technology insights and research into instructional strategies. Coursework was developed in concert with technology industry leaders. It equips you with tools to transform and ignite an ability to learn in a variety of education and training settings.

Minnesota Teacher License Renewal Seminars

Complete the state-required seminars for relicensure as a Minnesota teacher. Seminars are 90 to 120 minutes long and include Reading Preparation; Key Signs of Mental Illness with Suicide Prevention; Best Practices in Teaching English Language Learners; Accommodations, Modifications, and Adaptations of Curriculum; and Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies.

M.A. in Education (Minnesota)

Gain in-depth knowledge in your particular specialty: Curriculum and Instruction, Culturally Responsive Teaching, and English/Math Content Specialization. Coursework also covers technology integration, current educational theory, and child growth and development.

M.A. in Education (Wisconsin)

Designed specifically for licensed Wisconsin educators who want to build their skills, this program focuses on the design of coherent instructional activities, techniques for engaging diverse learners, learning assessment, and more. The program is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction

M.A. in Teaching

This program is designed for adults with a bachelor's degree who are seeking a Minnesota teaching license for the first time. Select from licensure options in elementary education, middle school, secondary education, and specialty subject areas.

M.A. in English as a Second Language

Add the Minnesota K–12 ESL license to your list of teaching credentials. This program is designed for established teachers as well as those seeking a Minnesota teaching license for the first time.

M.A. in Literacy Education (K–12 Reading)

Learn to develop effective instruction to support struggling readers or students whose first language is not English. Coursework prepares you for licensure as a K–12 Reading Teacher.

M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning

Specially designed for licensed teachers who are passionate about the pursuit of knowledge, this nontraditional program focuses on your specific research needs or interests through a learner-centered, active, and community-based model. Learning takes place in an interdependent community of colleagues for a unique and dynamic experience.

Ed.S. in Educational Administration

Learn to navigate complex educational issues while preparing for licensure in MN as a principal, director of special education or superintendent. You'll create strategic plans for district-level outcomes and communicate more effectively with students, families, and teachers while inspiring teamwork between and within those groups. The curriculum combines organizational leadership theory and practical skills as an administrator in K-12 schools.

Ed.D. in Leadership

Engage in an in-depth scholarly exploration of leadership and put this learning to work in your daily profession. This program has inspired leaders in a variety of fields, from healthcare to nonprofits. to develop and refine their abilities as creative, thoughtful leaders and change agents.

Graduate Certificate Programs — Available Only On Campus

K–12 Reading Teacher

Prepare for the K–12 Reading license in Minnesota or the 316 Reading Teacher license in Wisconsin. Coursework builds your understanding of how to improve students' foundational literacy skills through developmentally appropriate instruction and assessment.

Education Administration: Director of Special Education

This program is designed for students seeking a Director of Special Education license. The practitioner-focused curriculum emphasizes organizational leadership theories with practical school administration skills.

Education Administration: K–12 Principal

This post-master's certificate is for students seeking the Minnesota K–12 principal license. Coursework provides an understanding of the 13 core administrative competencies and includes a 320-hour field experience internship.

Education Administration: Superintendent

This program is designed for post-master's students seeking a Minnesota K–12 superintendent license. Coursework focuses on core competencies for superintendent positions and includes a 320-hour field experience internship.
